Clean a bedroom

The following order should be observed when cleaning a bedroom:

Ventilate, empty trash bins (or trash cans) and ashtrays:  Draw the curtains or blinds and open the shutters and/or windows to ventilate the room. Ventilating the room is essential as it supplies fresh air to rooms and removes stale air (ventilation time, however, may vary).

Make the beds once you've ventilated the room.

Clean the floor: the technique one chooses for cleaning the floor depends on the type of floor surface and type of soil or grime.  One can sweep or use a dry mop.  Periodically, one may opt to use a wet mop.  In order to clean the floor well, it is advisable to move the furniture to reach inaccessible areas. However, as much as possible, avoid moving the beds daily to avoid damaging the legs, scratching the floor and walls.

Dust. Start with the upper areas (such as shelves) and then move on to the lower areas (such as tables and chairs). Dusting can be done daily using microfiber cleaning cloth or ordinary cloth. When necessary, one can use a special liquid for dusting wooden furniture. In order avoid wasting time doing unnecessary steps and leaving out certain areas uncleaned, it would be good to pre-establish the order that one will follow as soon as one enters the room, e.g. to start from the right or left side of the room.

Periodical Cleaning. Includes in-depth cleaning of areas or furniture such as shelves (which would require moving or removing all the books, for example), windows, doors etc. One trick to removing shoe polish stains on doors is to wipe it with a cloth lined with colorless polish.

Put the furniture and other objects in order. Do a final check. Before leaving the room, make sure that everything is in place and in order.  Make sure that the bed covers are all smoothened out, check if trash bins and floor mats (if there are) are in place.  Leave the windows open depending on angle that the sunlight filters in through the room in order to avoid exposing furniture directly to the sunlight.  The shutters maybe left slightly ajar or the blinds partly drawn.
